• Yes and yes. You can turn off the ice maker by using the controls on the inside of the refrigerator. Or, even better, download the "SmartThings" app and you can do this from your phone. What's nice about that is you can turn it back on from anywhere a day or two before you return and come home to a full ice bin. However, being that the ice maker will stop making ice once it's full, I'm not sure you'd need to turn it off.

• Yes, and yes, VictoriaL! The ice maker has a sensor that automatically pauses ice production if the bucket is full. The control panel also has an "Ice Maker" button that turns the ice maker on/off. ^Jecca
