“Is there a way that the glass shelf covering the 2 drawers (veggie and fruit drawers) at the bottom area of the fridge can be removed for cleaning? Daughter's unit has fluid that leaked from something she had in the fridge and it's under the glass edges.”

If you remove the bins you should see small tabs toward the front of the filter just under the glass. If you squeeze them you should be able to lift the glass while leaving the filter in place.
