A:AnswerHi! The subwoofer is wireless allowing it to be placed throughout the room near an outlet and still connect to the soundbar. You are able to leave the subwoofer disconnected from power if you would not like to utilize it, however for optimal sound this unit should be paired with the included subwoofer.
