Thanks for your interest in Samsung refrigerators. I'm not sure which shelf you're referring to being able to convert. The RF31FMESBSR has the middle Flex Zone Drawer, and a freezer drawer which contains a large bin and another drawer. The main refrigerator compartment has two veggie crisper drawers, and the rest of the storage is in the form of shelves and door bins. I've attached the illustration of this model's interior from the user manual; the manual can be downloaded as a pdf file from Samsung's website for more information.
