QuestionReviewers on the Samsung site mention poor quality of the finish (paint peeling off and rusting) and difficulties cleaning either the stainless or the black stainless (creating stains!) Has anyone experienced these problems?

- Answer Yes, the stainless steel is not stainless under the knobs. For me in 8 months time, it has pitted and discolored from heat under normal use- and cannot be cleaned. The material is not stainless steel and is advertised as Stainless cooktop. Samsung warranty will not cover the repair or replacement. Repair for that part (Face plate bezel) is well over $500.

- Answer 22,000 BTU center burner instead of 19,000 Wok grate As far as I can tell, those are the only differences.

QuestionI am trying to find the distance between each burner to compare to my current 4-burner cooktop. Can someone provide that info or point me in the right direction? I am mainly interested in the distance between the front and rear burners.

- Answer The distance between the two left side rings (center to center) is about 7.5 in. The distance between the a left side ring to the center ring (center to center) is about 9.75 in. Hope this helps.

- Answer Nonsense. This is the best cooktop I have ever used. I use the 22k burner the most, and ALL of the knobs remain cool while using this burner AT FULL BLAST.

QuestionAre the knobs metal or plastic?

- Answer Metal. The overall knob and the shaft that connects to the main unit are metal. There are some plastic bits underneath that appear related to the how the knob glows blue, but don't look important to the knob's strength or functioning.

QuestionWhat is the depth between the Grate (Top) and the sealed burner in this cooktop ? In my current Cooktop , the depth is large and hence heating is not efficient and takes more time for cooking .

- Answer It is 1 inch for all of the side burners. The middle burner has a little more space for a pan such as a wok to sit closer to the flame, so that one is less.

QuestionLooks like there are 2 grates for the center burner. One that hold a wok and regular one. Does this come with 2 center grates?

- Answer There is just one center grate. The wok holder is a separate ring that is designed to fit over the center high power burner. It is easy to attach. The wok ring has notches that fit securely over the main grate for a stable base for the wok. It really works well and once cool, just lift it off and tuck away in a drawer or cupboard.

QuestionWhy is this cooktop so heavy (75 lbs.)? In research of cooktops I found most were half the weight or less.

- Answer I installed this cooktop a couple of weeks ago. Most of the weight is in the cast iron grates and the griddle. The top itself was easy to manage single handedly. Picking up the box off the porch was hard.

QuestionIs this Samsung 30" gas cooktop the same as the Dacor 30" gas cooktop? They look identical and Samsung bought Dacor back in 2016. If they are the same, does Dacor or Samsung make it? Thank you
