When using power boost on the big burner in the back I know I should hear a humming noise coming from it but should there be a somewhat loud ticking noise also? The reason I ask is because it is the only burner that does it> null

Mine does that tick on the power boost too. I just now tried all the burners on the power boost.  
Turning on any burner is a tick.
Power boost:
Bottom right - no
Bottom left (flex zone) - yes but not very loud
Top left flex zone - yes but even quieter 
Big burner - yes
