• I can't exactly answer you're question about the head phones but on my new TV I know you can use a Sound bar with the Optical cable to connect it to the TV. Both the TV speakers and the Sound bar will work at the same time but you do have to use the remote for the Sound bar to control the functions or you can manually control the Sound bar by the settings on the Sound bar.

• Hello Jerry, if you are using the Digital Optical out port for your headset you can connect a set of speakers to the unit but it would have to be connected using the HDMI ARC port and the unit would have to be compatible with HDMI ARC. ^Rosi
