Excellent product and amazing video quality
||Posted .This is the second time that I buy this exact model so I was sure I couldn’t go wrong with it. What I love the most is the way Samsung calibrates the screen with the 4K technology which is way better from other brands. I’ve had Sony and LG and I definitely prefer this Samsung products. Is not just about specifications cause a lot of tvs have the same ones but is also about the way is brand calibrates the image, video and sound. I think that’s the reason why Apple and Samsung smartphones are way better than others even when all has the same specifications sometimes.

Low priced Samsung smart TV with a great picture!
||Posted .We were looking to replace an older 55" Samsung smart TV for our bedroom. We didn't need a big TV but wanted at least a 40". We found this model for sale on Best Buy.com and found it was 4K and still a smart TV. We ordered and the TV was delivered on time. Taking it out of the box, it was light and looked nice. We mounted it on the wall and it was easy due to it's light weight. It's got all the features we wanted and we have both Tivo and Apple TVs hooked up to it. The picture is super duper. We do, however, get a strange noise that happens from time to time that sounds like white noise (a "blip"). That's the only thing we don't like about it and haven't been able to figure out why it does it. Otherwise, it has great sound and picture for a small 40".

Died after 9 months
||Posted .I bought this Samsung 40" during the 2017 Black Friday sale. Perhaps that was my first mistake as I have heard that manufacturers make cheaper versions of products for this sale. In any case, I bought it, and was happy with it until mid August when it died. No power, no standby light, nothing. Now, I do have to say that the unit was under warranty and I called Samsung and they gave me an authorization number. Then I had to call the repair center which is about 45 minutes from my house. I assumed someone would come out and repair, but I was wrong because it was only 40". I was supposed to drop it off, wait some number of days and pick it up. Sounds easy... except that spending 3 hours of my time minimum for travel plus wait time for a $350 tv really isn't worth it. So - I decided to ebay the parts and fix it myself. I read online that the most common cause of no power and no status red light was the power board. $35 later, I was installing the new power board. Nothing. I kept researching and now concluded it was the main board. Ebay $45 later and bingo. Works perfectly. BTW - anyone who has ever added memory or swapped a hard drive in a pc or laptop can do this. Very easy. I'm about $80 in to get it working again which is still better than driving back and forth to the repair center. However, I have always bought Samsung, and thought they were very high quality. Never a failure until this unit. I am attributing this to cheap units designed for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. I also read one story of a bad batch during that time. Either way - use caution. I'm giving it 1 star because it should never have failed from normal use in just 9 months. The picture is the working replacement power board on the right (power board was not the problem), and the failed main board on the left which when replaced, immediately fixed the TV.

Excellent TV for a computer monitor
||Posted .I was looking for TV's to use as computer monitors and these are great. I bought 2 of these 40" models and they are awesome hooked up to my pc's. Wifi signa strength is great and works flawless. Apps download and load fast. Overall the picture quality is pretty good and true to color. You are getting a ton of value for the price. The TV is also very lightweight which is a plus.

Pretty good tv for the price
||Posted .Wanted the NU8000 65 inch tv but the price was very high. I opted to wait and get the 40 4K tv for my bedroom. It was a very good upgrade. 4K content is scattered but YouTube shows very stunning 4K images. Netflix has a few movies in 4K. Overall this tv can be a keeper once you tweak the settings. HDR is very dark I think. I like the high contrast option over the HDR for some stuff. Remote is basic and makes tv look cheap. Overall I would purchase a second tv if still available.

I almost feel guilty.
||Posted .I purchased this Samsung TV for my senior parents when the previous TV went ''black." (Sound but no picture) The image is stunning and the sound is incredible. I posted the TV on social media and received positive comments. A 4K TV and service plan for less than $400 is a steal.

Perfect TV!
||Posted .Great TV for the price. Beautiful picture, good sound. It's not too big and it's not too small. I also added a Samsung sound bar to beef up the experience!! Best part is if you have a Samsung Smart phone everything works together!!

Q: QuestionSamsung says on their web site this TV has 4K HDR Pro but Best Buy say no HDR who is correct? Looks like the only difference between this TV (the 6290) and the more expensive (6300) is that the 6300 has remote Voice control and Bluetooth - is that true?
Asked by ALANS.
- A:Answer Go with what Samsung states on their website, not Best Buy as Best Buy has not correctly listed the specs for this television and since I have seen Samsung themselves respond to customer questions here, I am rather surprised Samsung themselves have not reached out to Best Buy to have them make the rather important correction to the specs for this television. Yes, this model does feature 4K HDR Pro.
