I believe the previous person who answered didn't understand your question. With nearly 2" of room on each side to the edge of your stand, you should be fine. I don't know if the legs are slippery but the TV isnt going to move on it's own so unless children will be able to move it or it could be "bumped" by someone or thing, slippery feet or not, it's going to move a bit. Take precautions and put some felt circles or shelf lining under the legs to prevent sliding.

I have a similar situation, where i just put this TV atop a 4-5' high dresser and my one cat likes to get up there and walk behind the TV and try to knock things off. I have the one foot not just all the way over to the one corner but the individual pieces (toes?) are even hanging off the edge ever so slightly...i felt it was safe to do this BECAUSE the feet have good rubber holders at the bottom of them. while the stand/feet and overall look/design are positives, i have to say i'm really disappointed with this set so far. i found 5 fairly significant/surprising issues in my first night using it-- (Worst issue for me) if you're a cord-cutter and therefore don't have cable or anything plugged into any HDMI ports then you'll have "Cheddar" TV start up by default and start barking news at you every single time you turn on the TV; dull screen unless you use Dynamic (which is uber bright); streaming TV is of poor quality (Hulu looks like 720p to me); HDR doesn't actually work (right) on YouTube even when it def should; tried several times to fast forward 1/2 hr or hr in a UHD movie on Vudu and it spun and spun until it displayed an apology that it can't do that right now and did i want to switch to HD or SD instead. note that i have 100Mbps internet and the TV has a strong signal and consistently streams at about 30Mbps, so these aren't connectivity/app/acct issues. oh and that's the other thing...i was surprised to see any 4k tv from 2018 can't connect to 5GHz networks!? had to connect to my 2.4 GHz (much slower standard) SSID instead. maybe i got a bad one?...i may go back to Best Buy to exchange it and keep my fingers firmly crossed. (this is literally the only 4k 40" tv that exists.)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry I don’t understand. Are you saying your stand is 32” wide? Then this TV is a bit bigger than 40”, so don’t put the legs on.
