Yes. Connect your DVD player to the tv as you normally would and connect the tv to the sound bar. Or connect the DVD player directly to the sound bar and switch the input mode with the remote. Will work fine either way.

But typically you would connect the DVD player to your TV, then the soundbar to your TV. That way any device connected to your TV will be able to utilize the soundbar. Connecting it directly to a device means you can only get audio from that device, so if you have a gaming console connected to your TV, but your soundbar is connected to your DVD player, then you would only be able to use the sound coming from the TV.
