“Volume control Hi, I would be hooking this up to a Samsung TV. Do you need a separate remote control for the volume or can I program the same remote that I use to control the sound volume. For instance, my Uverse remote controls the sound and power on/ off on the TV. Can that be programmed to control the soundbar like that as well.”

I have the samsung HW-J450ZA soundbar connected to a Samsung UN65JS8500FXZA TV. Soundbar volume is controlled by either the TV remote, the Cable set top box remote, or the soundbar's remote. No problem.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a Time Warner cable. I tried to program my remote for it. If your remote comes in with code for programming devices. By all means go for it. I really don't mind using separate controls. It didn't bother me much. Just gotta keep it in sight than leave it on couch. I have a Samsung TV as well. So I can't complain much about that TWC remote doesn't program sound bar.
