“No Smart TV Apps? I just purchased this tv a week ago and during set up the TV states that it is connected to the internet but then shows fail. No apps ever come up? What is the sence of having a Smart TV if there are no Apps?? Help!!”

This TV has apps! All you need to do is hit the colorful box button on the remote. (On my remote, it is the bottom-most button.) This will then pull up a menu where you can access Amazon, YouTube, Netflix, and a bunch of other apps. Hope this helps!
