1 yes you can pause then stop the wash cycle and change it. 2 You can open lid by pausing, but machine will not work with lid open. 3 yes fill the washer with water then pause and put clothes in.

The washer fills with water based on the amount of clothes in the washer. Beginning on page 18 of the User Manual, you can find more information on wash cycles and features.
