“House has drainage that is slow and we sometimes have to stop spin cycle. Can this unit be stopped at any time during wash or does it just keep running once started?”

Yes. Touch the "Start button, and it will pause the cycle.

Time to snake your drainage. Better do this before your system backs up and causes either a drain tile flood or a sewage backup! Call a plumber to clear your lines to city property. Well worth it!
