“Can the subwoofer be used laying on its side? Alternatively, can it be setup at the rear of the room? Or, can the sound bar be setup and run without the subwoofer? New cabinet installed does not allow room for standing subwoofer at the front left.”

I have this sound bar- the bar works without any of the remote speakers or sub connected. The sub could probably be installed on it's side but only laying not he left hand side (when looking at the speaker) the right hand side has a fabric speaker grill. The sub connects via bluetooth (I think) I'm not sure how far the range is but at least 20 feet is fine.

I laid out my subwoofer that way. 3- Spending $1200 for the Samsung K950 Sound bar Atmos and NOT using the subwoofer is the big waste of money. Be warned that the Atmos rear speakers produce a very miserable weak sound. Hundred of thousand owners have voiced their disappointment to no avail. Samsung MUST take a serious action to right their shortcoming on this matter before their loyal customers exodus to LG or Sony.
