“How is this 5.1 if there are no rear/surround speakers? I would hope a simulated surround would be considered 3.1 with surround simulation. Is there a center speaker in the sound bar or is that simulated?”

There is a wireless add-on module that receives the signal and powers the two rear/surround speakers. Best Buy's website has the item.
