Hi Donna, The total width of the cook top on the NE58F9500SS Slide-in Range is 31", which includes 1/2" lip on each side to provide a seamless overhang on your counter tops. Whether it also helps to cover poor granite cutting depends on the distance from the edge where the cutting is evident. Please note that the body of the Range is 29-13/16" wide and the height is adjustable from 36" to 37-1/8". Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung

Yes the glass top extends about a 1/2 inch on each side covering the granite

yes, the cooktop overlaps on both sides and covers about 1/2 inch of the counter.
