“Is there room on the back of the stove for a gas pipe? We have a gas line that comes up through our floor and protrudes roughly 4 inches. Is there an "alcove" on the back of the stove that would allow the stove to push back to the wall and be flush?”

to answer your question, 3 inches from wall. We had the same issue. Ours was on the left, if facing the wall. It is the closest oven we were able to get to the wall.
