There are no advertisements in the main menu for this TV interface. There are essentially two menus: (1) your "pinned" menu and (2) the features menu. (1) The "pinned" menu is the bottom bar where you pin your most-viewed apps (e.g., Netflix, Hulu). You can scroll left-right between your pinned apps. A second bar appears above the bottom menu bar to display available or recommend programs within the app. For example, when I scroll left-right to my Netflix app on the bottom menu bar, the second bar above will display small icons for the last program I was watching and popular programs on Netflix. You can scroll up to select something on the second bar and be taken directly to that program (rather than clicking the Netflix app and then selecting the program within Netflix). (2) The features menu appears when you scroll all the way to the left on the bottom menu bar. This allows you to change settings, download other apps, change sources, etc. The same second bar appears above. This second bar may have sponsored or recommended movies or TV shows that appear as icons, just like mentioned before. All of the icons are just icons - no sound or movement.
