“Is the Ethernet port gigabit?”

• NO IT IS NOT GIGABIT!! I just spent a good bit of time confirming this. Our UN55NU7100FXZA only negotiates an Ethernet link at 100Mbps, even when using STP Ethernet cables as the manuals suggest. It will hit a solid 90Mbps+ though on the Ethernet port.

• I answered too quickly. In the manual it does say the LAN/WAN Ethernet port can negotiate up to 1000 Mb/Sec which is Gigabit speed. LAN 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX or 1000BASE-T, RJ-45 WAN 10BASE-T or 100BASE-TX or 1000BASE-T, RJ-45

• No, it is Fast Ethernet (100 Mb/Second). The WiFi interface should be able to link at higher speeds but 100 Mb is plenty fast enough.
