A:AnswerIn order to allow stability the base foot must be wider than the unit. My stand (wheeled cabinet) is also 34" wide and the last 1.5" or so of the TV foot on each side sticks off the edge. We are having no problem with stability. If you have small children you may want to consider a larger stand or wall hanging.
A:Answer9 or 10 is not unusual. Volume is very much a personal preference influenced by room furnishings, etc.
If you use your remote to get to the "Sound Mode" you can select and try different modes that may be to your liking for sound. If that does not do the trick you can go further by selecting the "Expert Settings" which includes an equalizer and balance functions to help get sound to something you may prefer.
Bottom line though is that TV speakers & sound are just not all that great. A sale on sound bars may be the best answer in the long run.
