According to our sales associate who dealt with us when we were purchasing our new TV, refresh rates are going to the wayside. 4K apparently was 4 times the pixels that the HD TVs have, which takes the refresh rate and throws it out the window. The refresh rates of past TVs are just not comparable to the speed that the smaller pixels can change. So, no, they are not going to make higher refresh rates on 4K, because there is no need to do so. That being said, our Samsung 55" 4K UHD TV has a specific "Game Mode" that helps with any shadowing you may see (I don't see it, but my husband who is a gamer did on our last ones). We love our new 4K TV!
