• I was a big fan of plasma as well. I believe the video game effect you are talking about is from the backlight in the LED that gave the picture a grey effect instead of a dark black as you would expect. Moving from plasma to this TV I feel it is able to produce the same level of deep blacks as you would expect from a plasma TV. I would certainly recommend going into a store to see it first hand.
