You do get the soap opera affect on certain shows here and there specially on lower quality movies , other than that you won't see it !

You can definitely get a movie theater effect on this model because that's what I get when I watch HD TV channels and Movies. I have not been to the opera yet. It's the best TV I have experienced and we enjoy buying TVs during the black Friday sales. And I am anticipating buying another Samsung curve smart 4k HD TV in the near future. Everyone should have at least one of these TVs in their life and home.
