“What are the differences and advantages of either edge-lit LED versus back-lit LED?”

• In doing a search it sounds that both have good things going for it. The side lit TVs are thinner and lighter. The back lit are thinner and a little heavier. In the articles I read, the back lit complement the changing colors more effectively. Based on there names, I would think light is reflected on the rear wall more with the back lit. I'm not sure about thr side lit. I don't know why it would affect the sound one way or another. I am interested in the same question.

• You want to avoid edge lit at all costs, if you are able. Back lit has local dimming for better, more vibrant colors, more accurate colors, better black levels, and can get brighter. This is especially true as you get into bigger screens.
