“We bought a 55" MU800d. Where is the on/off button on this tv???? Ours will not turn on with or without the remote. There is a little protrusion on the right hand side underneath next to the stand but it doesn't do anything when pushed or toggled.”

No. There are no controllers buttons on the TV. Have you tried replacing the batteries in the remote? Make sure the batteries are installed properly. Also, make sure the power cord is plugged in all the way. It can be pretty snug. Make sure the wall outlet is working properly. Underneath the TV on the right side is a small nub that turns green when the TV turns on. If you can't get that to turn on, you're out of luck and either need to return the TV or get it repaired.
