“My house is built with 7.1 surround sound speakers in ceiling. They feed to a recessed wall box with banana plugs. I'm assuming the oneconnect has hdmi-in ports only; Is there an recommended receiver or will any work with as long as it has an hdmi out?”

There is also a digital audio out optical port. So it will plug right into any receiver with an optical in.

Hello Richard79, Yes, you can only connect to the One Connect box via HDMI and Optical cable.
