“Does the digital optical audio out on the tv put out a 5.1 signal or just 2.1 stereo? my receiver does not have HDMI pass through so I would be connecting the HDMI cables from the dvd player, xbox, etc directly to the tv and then running the audio from the tv to the receiver”

• From the info I have, the optical output on the Samsung TVs will only output 2.1 audio when passing audio signals from digital sources (HDMI, component). -MrSamsung

• I have the ARC running and have not seen it go to 2.1 MY 6.1 setup receives the full channel array.
