“Our new house has a surface mount range plug on the floor in the center of the opening, back against the wall. It's not on the wall but on the floor. Is that spot acceptable for installation?”

• It should be. My gas line comes up thru the floor like that and it worked fine. There is a cut out on the back of the range to create space for the connections. I think you can find the actual dimensions in the installation guide on Samsung's website to make sure.
