Most side by side tests end up being a draw with one TV slightly better than the other in one area but not all. If you are struggling then flat may be the better way. One complaint with the curved is glare and how visible as a whole for those not dead center. For me I don't have a problem and in fact handles light reflection much better than my old TV. But if you had lots of light coming from the sides then you might have a problem. For me I have dark curtains and the only time I see any light is in the day but it's still find to watch a movie. I have a lamp about 3 feet to the left of me that I can't usually see on the TV. So for me I'm happy with these issues and the picture is very good.
