Thanks for the question. It's very important that the DV431 and other dryers have adequate circulation. If air circulation is limited on multiple sides, this could effect performance and safety. Because of this, there are recommended guidelines for installing the dryer in an enclosed space like an alcove or closet (see attached). If the air circulation around the dryer is not limited, then it may be alright to install it under a counter, but I would suggest consulting the safety guidelines available in the user manual and the installation guide, or contact the Best Buy installation team for advice on your particular situation. - Ms. Samsung
