“Can you control the functionality of this device with your smart phone? It states that it's "App Controlled", but my dryer won't connect to any app besides to run a diagnosis.”

We're sorry for the confusion. This model is only equipped with the Smart Care feature. As you mentioned, this feature is used for diagnostics. Some models do have a Smart Control feature which allows you to use your smart device to control the dryer. ^Jecca
