Hey Alex! This model is a gas powered model, so it will need to be connected to a gas line in order to dry the clothes. However, a water line is only needed if you wish to use any of the steam functions. If your home does not have a gas line, check out some of our electric models (https://bit.ly/2ZkpSgA). ^Jecca
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.If you don't hook up a gas line it won't get hot and will only air dry. The water line is for the steam function. You can probably run it without the water line but it won't work very well without a gas hookup.
