• I turn it on 1080p unless whatever I'm watching indicates it's compatible for 4k.

• HDR+ mode will automatically apply HDR to any video source. It can be turned off and HDR be turned on, on a device to device basis. HDR+ is it's own implementation and will adjust contrast & brightness depending on video source.
