You should buy a surround sound system anytime you intend to watch the TV for anything more than the news or a talk show. Sound bars are superior to the TV speakers and even a modest surround system with at least a 5.1 speakers array will be worlds better than a sound bar. If you can spring for a full Dolby Atmos system with overhead or at least two high mounted speakers to gain surround height, you will not want to go to a movie theater again.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. While a soundbar isn't always necessary, it is recommended for a heightened audio experience. Should you choose to add a Samsung Soundbar to your TV, please know that our S- and Q-Series Soundbars (such as the HW-S800B) feature Q-Symphony which will synchronize with the speakers of the S89C TV for an immersive 3D sound experience. ~ Samsung Specialist
