• It will not fit in an XPS model. They will take an mSATA ssd. Samsung makes a 1 tb evo mSATA ssd though. I have installed a few in XPS 12 and 13's.

• Yes. It comes with software to mirror your had drive and keep all of your documents. The software does not work if the hard drive you are replacing has a larger volume than the one you are installing. There is a work around if you partition your hard drive to a smaller volume before running the software. Alternatively you could purchase the Acronis mirror software. You will need a hard drive adapter cable or hard drive dock to mirror the drive.
