It will fit and work just fine in your MBP. I suggest you do a complete backup with Time Machine, onto an external drive, and use that to restore your operating system and files on the new SSD. I did this recently and the whole process was done in less than 90 minutes. My MacBook runs super fast and flawlessly, boots up in 13 seconds to the login screen.
