Hi Yes it will work with that desktop. It does have to be formatted for Windows 10 to recognize it (I am just assuming your running Windows 10). You wont see it as a secondary drive when you first install it you have to go to the control panel and access it that way and then format to NTFS format. There are lots of places to get the step bu step on that. If your going to make it your primary then you will need to clone your current drive to it first then install it. Hope this helps.
