Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will probably fit physically into the drive bay. But what are you trying to do? Do you need to clone your existing hard drive? Or do you just want to use it for a backup? How you proceed instructions would be very different. Please clarify your goal.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I would guess so, JC, but I haven't seen an image or video of the E6500's inner layout. The Samsung SSDrive has screw mounting holes which lined up with my original Hard Disk Drive mounting bracket screw placement. It's thinner than my laptop's HDD was. There do exist some stick-on plastic space fillers which can fill the resulting thickness gap; I scavenged mine from another SSD brand for a desktop, since I needed to use a metal adapter bracket to mount the other brand securely in the drive slot for the desktop tower. Lucky bit of scavenging on my part...but I don't know if finding such a gap filler is highly necessary for the EVO 860 drive to work.; I think not, if screwed in & mounted properly. My personal preference was for the gap-filler. The EVO 860 has SATA contact configuration, which my laptop has. Samsung's Drive Cloning software which it directs you to download & use worked fairly simply, quickly, & effectively. For best speed in drive cloning, connect the linking device to a USB 3.0 port on your E6500, if it has any (which I wouldn't know; if it's fairly recent. most likely it would have at least 1 3.0 port). It should work with USB 2.0, anyway. I hope that this works for you. I love how it improves my laptop's (Dell Inspiron 15 i5558 w/Intel i3-4005U) speed & performance.
