Yes, this is a direct replacement for the hard drive in that model of laptop. You will need to image the original drive to the SSD if you wish to preserve the original operating system and recovery partition. You will need to download the Samsung Migration Tool and purchase a USB/SATA interface cable, as well. Good luck!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. These drives will work with any modern laptop (Ryzen ones being modern in this case) as SATA has been and is still the standard for most laptops. You may want to locate some better software though if you're cloning the OS drive as Samsung Magician that comes with it rarely if ever works for this. I used Aomei Backupper for the last drive clone I did with this model.

However, the Best Buy website mentions: "This Dell Inspiron laptop has memory and PCIe slots for further expansion." I would look into that somewhere on Dell's website using your serial # or repair tag to get full specifications and know what they mean by this. You may potentially have an extra empty slot for a SSD and can keep your 1TB drive for storage. Just have to do some research to see. But again, even if you don't have an extra slot, this Samsung SSD can replace your 1tb drive yes.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The Samsung SSD can always be used in place of the older SATA
