Will this work on a desktop? null

Standard laptop yes. It's perfect for a laptop or desktop.

Short answer no. Long answer if you have skills building computer you can get it to work. You can probably find a cable adapter on the internet.

Most any recent desktop, however you may need an adapter to mount it in a 3.5" drive bay, another option is 3M double sided tape
