With it being a SATA connection, the size looks correct. I have cloned/replaced dozens of laptops with the 860. Make sure, if you are cloning, that the size of the 860 is the same size or greater and there are no hard drive errors (with the old hard drive)
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes. It's very easy to swap. Download the Samsung Migration tool and install it on your old drive. Connect the new SSD to a docking station on a USB port and run the Migration Tool to clone everything over. Then power down the laptop and turn it over, and remove a handful of screws, and pop of the back. Unscrew the hard drive from its bay. Plug the new SSD into the cables you pulled off of the hard drive and screw back in bay (not sure if there are side mounts to transfer to the new drive on this model to secure in bay). Carefully turn over and test boot before you screw the back of the case back on. There is another tool called the Magician Drive Optimizer from Samsung that will let you check the read/write speed and run a TRIM and you can put it in Rapid Mode to prolong the life of the SSD. After successful boot, power off and screw back of case back together...you're done!
