• it should, we put in a 2012 and its working fine, I would suggest going to 1T vs. the 500GB, more bang for your buck

• No, it would not. All Late 2012 and newer MacBook Pro Retina models use specific m.2 SSD drives that have proprietary Apple pin layout.
