QuestionDoes Samsung have any plans to fix the bandwidth issues (i.e. DTS:X) and support LPCM 7.1/5.1? The whole reason I purchased this soundbar is for gaming yet at this price tag it doesn't even support LPCM?? The older models (N950/Q90R) even supported it!

- Answer Samsung will never answer this question. It’s been asked and skipped over. Every other question has been sort of answered but at this point, one may consider it dead. No LPCM support means downscaling to PCM which is laughed at. Not only that though, ps5 uses LPCM. The issue is so basic yet Samsung refuses to answer.

QuestionWhat is a good place to put the two satellite speakers? Should they mounted on floor stands, on-wall or on-ceiling? How does this affect the surround (Atmos/DTS) effect?

- Answer Found out that these Dolby Atmos up-firing speakers work the best with flat ceilings and not high-vaulted ceilings. Since D.A is an object-based 3D sound effect and not a codec like Dolby True HD or DTS-X.. Best placement is at ear level on floor standing speaker stands. HOPE THIS HELPS!!

QuestionDoes this soundbar have hdmi 2.1 ports? Can it pass through the new gaming systems signals? Also and more importantly if this tv is hooked up to a new Samsung q90t can it recieve a dts signal over earc pass through at all? Would really appreciate any help

- Answer Hi there! The HW-Q950T Soundbar supports eARC; however, connecting a new gaming system through the soundbar will lose the gaming features as it is not directly connected. You would want to connect it directly to the TV and use eARC to get the best quality audio and the best input lag/other gaming features. ^Gina

QuestionAre the rear surrounds used with this soundbar different than the ones used with the HW-Q850T? If so are they compatible with the 850 and can they be purchased separately?

- Answer The Q850T comes with swa-9000s rear speakers, the rear speakers with the Q950T are not compatible with the Q850T, and sadly no they can't be purchased separately cause I myself have searched everywhere for them to use with my Q900T soundbar!!

QuestionHello, Many new game consoles have 120fps framerates with 4K. Does this soundbar passthrough that to the TV or do the consoles need to be directly plugged into the TV to achieve that?

- Answer I thought I would add to this thread. I just purchased this Soundbar took it home updated it and connected my Xbox series X. My tv has 2 HDMI 2.1 ports 120hz modes one of them is the ARC port. My Xbox series X is running 4k w HDR in 120hz mode with HDR with this Soundbar.. Yes it works in port 1 via passthrough. I just connected my ps5 to port 2 and I'm getting 60fps at 4k I just ordered a new HDMI 2.1 cable and will test if the ps5 picked up the 120hrz mode in port 2. Yes no delay when gaming using DTS output on both ports of the Soundbar I am fine with this vs Dolby just me. I do prefer the sound quality of the q90 over the 950t because the sound is a little bit flatter maybe due to more channels and speakers so the sound is more spread out. I was able to restore some punch I was use to with the q90 using some minor EQ changes. I am fine with this setup. Especially watching bad boys 3 or John wick I can hear those cool side speakers fully engaged sound bounced off the walls like crazy really adds another dimension when your watching ATMOS movies. Note, not all ATMOS movie/show audio is created equal some movies we watched didn't have good ATMOS smh. Eventually I will move to a AV receiver not now though the apartment is to small. I am curious what the 2021 model will bring maybe 1 or 2 more HDMI ports would be nice all supporting 4k 120hz. That's a dream. Yes Apple TV also working with ATMOS on this Soundbar via tv pass thru. - Answer Hi Bingo! Soundbars like the HW-Q950T are designed to connect direct to the TV, eliminating the need for receivers or amplifiers. Connect the cable box and any other video devices to the TV, then connect the soundbar to the TV using HDMI ARC. ^Tim

- Answer This was previously asked and Samsung stated it's a whole set with no option to buy individually. If you are trying to purchase slowly because of cost their is Samsung's financing which is zero interest for 12 months.

QuestionOne of the reviews indicated that there were issues with voice clarity being drowned out by background movie noise. Is there an audio setting to improve this or could it be due to the original movie audio?

- Answer Hi Steve, There are many reasons this could happen. What you are looking for as far as audio clarity is concerned is a minimum of 3 channels. This has 9 so you're good there. Otherwise you would want to change the sound settings to something like "Amplify", or even "Night Mode". These will tend to accentuate dialogue while tuning down other channels. - Answer I misspoke. The Apple TV is lpcm. FYI have found documentation that this bar does NOT support it. So Apple TV owners are out of luck.
