Sony has not yet confirmed a list of drives that are compatible. This one MIGHT be so keep it bookmarked.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes this is 4.0 and meets the requirements set by PS5.And at the moment this is one the fastest nvme on the market pricey tho!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I'm buying now. Guaranteed this will be compatible with the PS5, but once Sony announces it is this will be sold out immediately. Worst case I'll return it if this one isn't on Sony's approved list. My bet is it'll be compatible with PS5 for sure.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. To date, 10/10/2020, Sony has yet to confirm the card as compatible with the PS5. Go back and listen to Mark Cerny's conference from a few months ago where he stated that even though the ps5's ssd has a throughput of 5.5ggs, it has a custom controller that has 6 layers of commands. Now I'm not tech savvy enough to know what that means, but he did say that cards would have to be fast enough to work even though they arent utilizing that custom controller. He stated that "cards with read speeds of 7ggs should be available around the end of the year"... If you look at wd black card it actually advertises itself as compatible with the ps5 and it has the same speeds as this card. My concern is that IF sony says this card is a go it'll be sold out asap. So I bought it.. it has a 45 day return policy.. So I'll either have it on day one or return it.
