“Is an add-on heat sink required/advised for this?”

• The drive itself does have a built in heat sink. I suppose there might exist a use-case where you'd want/need additional heat dissipation but I started pushing this thing pretty hard with some video editing and photo editing and never saw any slow down.

• Required no, but highly advised since it thermal throttles quite fast when doing extended activity.

• A heat sink is recommended, so if your PC/laptop M.2 NVMe slot does not have one, you should get an add-on.
