Yes, this is a newer model.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I went toBest Buy the day my washer was recalled. I ordered the 5.2 and on the receipt it said the last 2 digits ended in AA. When I took receipt of the washer on 11/11/16 the last 2 digits were A2 which was a recalled model. I immediately went on Samsung site and ran the serial number and it was not recalled. According to Best Buy site the new model should end in AA and says it's out of stock until the 28th of November. I also called Best Buy when I saw the model # did not match up to the receipt and they said it was the new model. I am still going to call Samsung to guarantee this is a newly manufactured model or they will get it back. Also, to be honest, it's very quiet but when I take the clothes out after being washed and put on normal spin cycle they are still pretty wet. Also the rubber pieces that are on the bottom of the lid to protect the lid from damaging the washer when you close the lid have already popped out. I will be calling Samsung to discuss this issue. So right now I would say the jury is out on this model.

Two months later this one has problems with the lid/door not latching properly so it will not start the wash until you hold the door down. They came to fix and replaced the door and guess what still having problems! Door will not latch! Very disappointed with the product.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a newer model. I've had mixed results with Samsung washing machines. I would stay away from the top loading and go with their front loading style. Only problem is you will likely have to spend more by having to by the pedestal.

Please try again later.best thing i can say is go to the store and look up the model number and serial number pull up the samsung site and look up it up thats what i did i went to the store and the model number they had on display wasnt on the recall list i double checked it
