Yes you can use this without a Samsung account to use your Mac M1. However you must sign up for a Samsung account to initially set up the tv. You can also AirPlay your mac screen to the monitor wirelessly.

The monitor will charge the mac (up to 65 Watts) as well, assuming it is a MacBook. You can also connect via HDMI or DisplayPort inputs on the monitor, depending on which M1 Mac you have, adapters, etc. It would work like any traditional 4K monitor, I feel the 43" size is the best when using 4K otherwise the icons and such get very small, it is like having 4 1080 monitors, 2 wide and 2 high. You don't need to sign up for a Samsung account unless you plan on using any of the Smart features, we haven't done that or used any of those. Basically you can use it like a smart TV to watch TV or other content via the Apps, I might be old-school but if you are connecting this monitor to a computer, I assume you would have all your apps on the computer, unless you are using it with a Work computer and want to use Apps outside that. We did connect it to the WiFi and the apps that came built in did work, and the initial setup gets that ready, but not required to have an account.
