• No, the wifi is only for accessing the third party software as hulu plus or netflix, but regular DVD/Blue ray you do not need it

• No. WIFI is one of the options . Plays like a regular blue ray without wifi. It upgrades non blue ray disc.

• No. It works like any other DVD player. Use WiFi to stream movies from Netflix etc.
