• There is no overlap. I purchased silicon strips. Stove is worth this minor inconvenience.

• There is no cover for the gap between the stove and the countertop. The gap is entirely dependent on the space between one countertop to the next. Mine slides in almost perfectly. There’s less than a 1/16 inch space on either side. The height of the stove is exactly even with the countertops, since the stove height was adjustable.

• It does not have a lip that extends. That does help with not having odd gaps due to height difference between counter and stove but does allow spills etc to go between.
